It is so easy to get one or more of the wrong – and even one tiny, what seems like an inconsequential misstep can cause havoc resulting in either a duplicate payment that is difficult, if not impossible to retrieve, a late payment, a disgruntled supplier or worse, an unhappy manager. We’ll go through the steps and the best practices you should use every step of the way so that doesn’t happen to you. The job of an accounts payable specialist is ideal for someone who is detail oriented. While it is more complicated than it might seem at first glance, it is not difficult – if you follow instructions. It is the way many professionals start their accounting career and provides a good foundation for understanding how an organization operates. An accounts payable specialist is sometimes referred to as an invoice processor, an accounts payable associate or occasionally an accounts payable clerk. Worried AI will take over the world, or worse? Have no fear. That is not happening, in part thanks to some of 5 relatively new initiatives impacting the use of AI in business today. We’ll discuss each in a little detail. These various initiatives are not about restricting the use of AI but rather about setting up guide rails that ensure civilization doesn’t go off the tracks in its quest to make the most of AI. Make no bones about it. I believe AI is here to stay – we just have to learn how to make the most of it without allowing it to take over.
