What is an Accounts Payable Minimalist? Someone who strips out all the interruptions and non-value add work so they can focus on the important issues at hand. In the case of AP, that refers to the processing of invoices accurately and quickly, avoiding fraud (especially new ones), complying with all regulatory mandates (of which there are many) and selectively and efficiently incorporating new technology to help achieve their mission in the most cost-effective manner.

The hard working accounts payable teams at many organizations are really doing a lot more complex work than their bosses realize. I really wanted to call this broadcast, Understanding Why Accounts Payable Is Much Harder and More Complex than Most Finance and Accounting Executives Realize. But clearly, that was far too long even though it sums the many over-looked intricacies that go into running a best practice accounts payable operation.
