Facts about Zelle Scams 2022 [Protection]
Tuesday Aug 02, 2022
Tuesday Aug 02, 2022
We’ve got some facts about Zelle Scams, Zelle fraud in 2022. We’re here with Lynn Larson to share this newest twist on current Zelle scams. Plus, she’ll do a quick review of some of the other ways Zelle scams are perpetrated.
As Zelle accounts become more popular, crooks looking to get their hands on your money are getting more innovative and creative. In this episode we discuss yet another innovation criminals are using to defraud ordinary citizens of their hard-earned money. They are doing this using Zelle.
Zelle payments or payments made using the Zelle app are sometimes referred to as Instant Payments or Real Time payments. Although many sign up for Zelle through their bank, the bank does not have ultimate responsibility for these accounts. This has led to a lot of heartache and complaints when there was a fraud or scam perpetrated using a Zelle account.
Don’t let the Zelle dream turn into a Zelle nightmare, because you fell for one of the many Zelle scams. In this episode we review a number of ways crooks are scamming ordinary citizens who just happen to be Zelle users. This handy payment app makes it easy to
transfer money from person to person simply by using an app on your phone. But without the proper care and controls, the app can become a nightmare. We take a look at some safety precautions every Zelle user should take to ensure they don’t get Zelle scammed. Stick around until the end when we share an often-overlooked Zelle safety precaution.

One Time Vendor Set Up: Yes or No?
Thursday Jul 28, 2022
Thursday Jul 28, 2022
Do you set up one-time vendors in the master vendor file? How do you handle these vendors in the master vendor file? We’ve got five possible solutions, none are perfect. Which you select will depend on your philosophy and how many purchases your organization makes from one-time vendors. What should #accountspayable do with a #onetimevendor in the #mastervendorfile?
What to do with vendors who you are only going to do business with once is a tricky question? Do you set them up in the master vendor file or not? There are pros and cons to both setting up the vendor in the master vendor file and not setting up the one-time
vendors and clogging the master vendor file. One-time vendors present a really tricky issue. How you handle them will depend largely on philosophy and how many you have. Clearly this is a different issue for the company that gets only a handful of one-time vendors compared with those who have hundreds if not more one-time vendors each year.
There are many ways to handle one-time vendors in the master vendor file. None of them are perfect, unless perhaps you only have a few each year. But for the majority of the companies out there who have a bucketload, the problem is less that clear.

Accounts Payable Lingo [Test Yourself]
Thursday Jul 14, 2022
Thursday Jul 14, 2022
Do you speak accounts payable? Do you know what all the accounts payable terms or accounts payable abbreviations stand for? In this very short video we share 20
abbreviations or short cuts used in the accounts payable function and reveal what they mean. #Accountspayable, like many other #accounting functions has a language all its own, filled with jargon and special lingo. While we all know we shouldn’t use it, as it confuses others, somehow, it manages to slip in.
The accounts payable lingo or the accounts payable terminology is often strange to those who don’t use it everyday. That’s why we advise people not to use it, but somehow, many (myself included) can’t help ourselves and the accounts payable jargon we are all so familiar with slips in. That’s why we should ask outsiders, “do you speak accounts payable” before slipping into the accounts payable lingo or accounts payable jargon. It’s like accounts payable has a language of its own. Who knew there were so many different areas.
List of terms explained:
1. AP
2. P2P
3. ERS
4. T&E
5. ACH
6. P-card
7. TIN
8. W-9
9. 1099
10. AI
11. RPA
12. DPO
13. S-OX
14. SUT
15. VAT
16. YE
17. YTD
18. ME
19. P&L
20. 2/10 net 30

Hiring Questions You Should NEVER Ask
Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
Hiring questions you should NEVER ask! Ask these questions and you could be exposing your organization to big liabilities. The rules are changing as to what you can ask and what you can’t. HR expert Barbara Mitchell agreed to join the AP Now platform to explain some of the new rules. #interviewquestionsnottoask #interview #accountspayable
What was a perfectly respectable question just a few short years ago, today is an interview questions not to ask a candidate. And the rules are changing every day. So what was acceptable in your state just a few months ago, today in on the list of interview questions not to ask. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself before asking a question, do I need this information to determine if the person can do the job. If the answer is no or probably not, you might want to consider adding it to the list of interview questions to avoid asking.
Bad interview questions are often asked out of ignorance, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be asked. You might want to plan a little ahead of time about illegal interview questions and how to answer them. One of the biggest issues currently revolves around salary. You might want to plan ahead how to respond to salary questions in an interview so when someone asks inappropriate interview questions, you have an answer and are not left there staring that they even asked.
